Circus Attractions

Fun mini-games collection comparable to Epyx's sports series, but set in an unusual scenario of a circus. Circus Attractions was published by a company called Golden Goblins. I only heard very few from ... is, as usual, much better, but this PC version is not bad. Recommended, especially to fans of Fiendish Freddy's Big Top O' Fun or Epyx' series of unconventional sports games such as California Games.

Classic Arcade Games for Windows

Nothing in the package will make you uninstall Microsoft's excellent Entertainment Pack for Windows series, but they are fun enough to come back to once in a long while.

Claw

Claw is a fun but little-known side-scrolling 2D platformer game from Monolith. The Adrenaline Vault's detailed review explains why action fans should take a look: "Based roughly during the 15th ... lives as most games do, and finding extra magic ammo is rare. These few "flaws" in Claw are enough to make the game incredibly difficult but overall, still addictingly fun to play."

Cloud Kingdoms

Review 1: A puzzle game that will make you come back for more. You are some kind of green, fury ball with an evil-looking eyes who's been imprisoned in some kind of Cloud Kingdom. Your goal - complete ... like a with the smoothest scrolling ever seen on a C64! Cloud Kingdoms is by far my favourite C64 game, and one of the best platform games I've ever seen. Try it and you won't be disappointed."

CloudPhobia

CloudPhobia is yet another excellent freeware horizontal shooter from Japan. Featuring excellent "mecha" designs that are reminiscent of Gundam series, the game looks great and plays even better. ... 'scene.' If you enjoy shooters, CloudPhobia is a great addition to your collection, although it may become repetitive after you beat it once, due to the lack of new levels and enemies. Recommended!

Clyde's Adventure

Clyde's Adventure is a below-average platform game for DOS that starts out promising enough before descending into mediocrity around halfway through. Your goal: make your way through each of the 32 castles, ... seen most of what the game is like - and will have little incentive to continue. Not recommended, except if you like puzzle-oriented platformers in general and are tolerant enough of boring levels.

Clyde's Revenge

Clyde's Revenge is a pretty bad sidescrolling platformer that ruins the creative no-enemies premise with dull gameplay and interminably boring levels. Basically your goal is to collect every stone on the ... - see our review of Seiklus for example. Thumbs down on this lackluster game that isn't that good - although it is still much better than Clyde's Adventure, the first game in this short-lived series.

CHAMP Galagon

Review 1: CHAMP Galagon is a good clone of ATARI's classic Galaga, similar in style and gameplay to CHAMProgramming's earlier CHAMP Galaxia which was based on Galaxian. The gameplay is simple as ever: ... from CHAMP Games. Of course there is a few things that could be better in the game and the gameplay is pretty much the same on each level but you can't expect much more from a game like this either.

CHAMP Galaxia

Review 1: The description at CHAMP Games Fan Page says it all about this excellent remake of ATARI's classic arcade shooter Galaxian: "A great version of the famous arcade classic game - CHAMP Galaxia. ... there are two different game modes: Classic mode plays more like the arcade game; CHAMP Mode includes the Classic Mode with more enhancements, including more patterns, shields, and different enemies!

This ... is yet another one that is worth giving a try. This version is also very faithful to the original version although the additional modes changes that a bit around but those are of course optional.

Champ Kong

Review 1: Look! It's Donkey Kong! He's using a pseudonym here - probably to avoid all his fans. Or legal reasons maybe? His record label owning his name...? Okay so... this is TAFKADK - The Ape Formerly ... as well as old-timers who will enjoy the CHAMP levels. If you love the arcade original, you will doubtless enjoy this wonderful remake from one of the best shareware companies in the business.

Changoo 4 (a.k.a. Crayon Shin-Chan 4)

Changoo 4 is the fourth and best entry in the Changoo series, fanmade games based on Crayon Shin-Chan, an excellent humorous manga (and now anime) series that is wildly popular in Asia but is rarely known ... is an action game, though, and it takes only a few minutes to learn the controls and what each menu option means. All in all, another excellent freeware old game from Korean's budding freeware scene.

Chaos

Shoot em up, seen from above, very cool, play wth friend or with computer.

Chaos Engine (a.k.a. Soldier of Fortune)

From one of the masters of the action genre comes this excellent top-down action game that is fun in solo mode and exceptional in 2-player. Choose from a handful of mercenaries, each with his/her own weapons, ... a style of gameplay that was both co-operative and competitive, similar in many ways to the arcade classic Gauntlet. The soundtrack also reacted to how well the players were doing in the game.

Charlie Chaplin

Although billed as an action game, Charlie Chaplin is not just a plain jump-and-run, but a very original game than is quite enjoyable. Your task is to create and edit a slapstick movie by acting as the ... color palette (no doubt to simulate actual Chaplin films) may turn some people off. Anyone who likes unique platform games, or want to start in their own films will probably enjoy it, though.

Charm Rocks

ImpArea and Charm Rocks are two interesting action games from DOKA that resemble a combination of board games and whack-a-mole. The objectives of both games are similar: catch as many 'imps' as you can. ... ImpArea, where the objective is more turn-based and less hectic. Both games, especially Charm Rocks, deserve a look by anyone who enjoys quirkly little action games that are refreshingly different.

Chasm: The Rift

Chasm: The Rift is a marginally above-average first-person shooter that would have probably been better known had it been released before the likes of Quake II and Jedi Knights. Like most 3D shooters, ... man's Quake that would be a must-buy if Quake and its brethren were never made. Enjoyable, but there are many better FPS out there—recommended only if you have played every other FPS on the market ;)

Chex Quest

Undoubtedly the strangest and most complete conversion of all DOOM engine licensees, Chex Quest was a free CD-ROM action game released by General Mills on a CD stuffed free into boxes of Chex Cereals. ... fact that it has about as little product placement as Disneyland. It's a fun escape into a world where gore is goo and Total Kills is zero. Now excuse me, I'm off to return some more Flemoids."

Chex Quest 2

A great sequel to one of the best marketing gimmicks of all time, Chex Quest 2 is more of an "add-on" to the original Chex Quest than a true sequel, because it requires that the original be installed ... addictive, although much more frustrating than the first Chex Quest due to significantly harder difficulty level. Great fun for all fans of the first game who are prepared for addition challenge.

Chex Quest 3

This is an unfinished beta version of Chex Quest 3, the last in a series of DOOM-style promotional games included inside selected Chex serial boxes. Read my review of the earlier Chex Quest games if you ... shotgun a la DOOM 2, and several new monsters. If you like the first two games, you will definitely like this one as well. Otherwise, it's just another average DOOM clone with some humorous touches

Chicago 90

Review 1: Chicago 90+ is a very simple game where you either play as a gangster or the police. If you are the gangster you have to escape from the city by driving to the exit without getting caught. ... Although you will soon have finished it, there are 3 levels and accomplishing the 3rd level can be quite a task. A fun game, not too hard, it might catch you playing quite a while. Recommended!

Chickens

Drop bombs on chickens.

Chickie Egg

Excellent unofficial PC conversion of Chuckie Egg, one of the all-time classics on 8-bit machines, e.g. the Commodore 64 and Amstrad CPC. Here is your chance to experience some of the best 8-bit arcade classics that never saw light on the PC.

Chip & Dale in: Rescue Rangers

This is a fun platform game developed in by Hi-tech Expressions, starring adorable chipmunks Chip & Dales as they don the role of rescue rangers. Avoid the menacing dogs and traps along the way. Overall, a fun game that is a little too short and is only marginally above average. Good for those with not-so-good reflexes :)

Cho Ren Sha 68K

Cho Ren Sha 68K is another excellent shooter from Japan's incredibly prolific freeware game development community. This vertical shooter boasts excellent 2D graphics, soundtrack, and a lot of neat ship ... experts will probably be able to finish it in under an hour, though. Overall, a fun diversion that doesn't boast the same longevity or replay value as classic freeware like Idinaloq. Recommended!

Choose An Enemy

One of the best examples of how Russians vent their anger (or maybe not…), Choose An Enemy is a fun mildless action game from little-known developer Russian Soft. The goal is simple: rescue your girlfriend ... of your own. Mindless, yes, but might be a good alternative to stressballs 5-10 minutes at a time. Fans of mindless action games, especially Bloodlust's games, should definitely check this one out.

Chromium B.S.U.

Review 1: You are captain of the cargo ship Chromium B.S.U., responsible for delivering supplies to our troops on the front line. Your ship has a small fleet of robotic fighters which you control from ... Chromium B.S.U. is still a highly polished, very good looking freeware shooter that you should take a look if your video card meets the requirements. Note: The download here is the Windows version.
