Highly recommended.

Highly recommended!
Vira is an excellent and unique puzzler from Nikita, one of Russia's best game developers that is practically unknown abroad. Like all good puzzle games, the game is easy to learn, but hard to master. ... smooth execution, and pleasant graphics. The game is in Russian, but there is very little text to get in the way of gameplay. All in all, another wonderful puzzler from the country famous for them.
Review 1: The sequel to Tetris, kind of ingenious, while not being as good as the classic itself. This is a weird one - and you know I like weird things, tehehe... Well, if you like good puzzle-games ... -- now you must contend with filling 5 surfaces instead of one (the 4 walls, plus the well bottom). Graphics is not as good as the original, but then again that's not what will keep us playing :)
Review 1: Wetrix is one of the most addictive arcade puzzlers I have ever come across. Although it was a big hit on the Nintendo 64, the first platform for which it was released, it unfortunately failed ... the game continues. A bar on the right side of the screen will show you the status of the leaks. The game is very addictive and has pretty good graphics and real sounds (even voices :) ). Have fun!!
WetSpot 2 is an outstanding arcade/puzzle hybrid which plays like a cross between Bubble Bobble and Pengo (and the author in fact acknowledge their "influence" on his site). The game even uses ... mazes, with varying background graphics. With solid level design, dozens of fun items to find and use, and novel two-player mode, WetStop 2 is one excellent clone that is well worth a look.

Review 1: You play the role of a detective, whose aim is to solve the crimes that Carmen's gang commits. The job is not easy, it requires a bit of brain power - chasing the criminals all over the world, ... So keep your eyes peeled! Good luck in becoming the greatest detective of all time. This game is very addicting and will definitely have you asking, "Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?"
A Whole New Ball Game is a solid Windows remake of the Spectrum ZX game of the same name, designed by Pete Cook in 1988. The object of the game is to capture all yellow "Energy-Pills" on each ... with the same graphics and gameplay that made it a blast to play. Too bad it excludes the fun fractal tree generator program that shipped with Pete Cooke's release, but hey, we can't have everything.
A real "blast from the past," this is a faithful adaptation of the popular TV show. A good example of how it is possible to fit tons of gameplay value into less than 200KB of data, with advanced ... shows you, in order to help your teammate guess the correct answer. The computer's drawings are passable and sometimes amusing to watch, and the game is a lot of fun in hot-seat multiplayer mode.
Wipeout is one of the most obscure Softie games ever, based on an equally obscure trivia game that managed to have an UK version despite lackluster ratings in the US. In this trivia game, a screen of sixteen ... there is only a few categories (which you can't select, unlike Jeopardy!. Overall, an average game for an average show -- try it only if you're a trivia buff who's already played everything else.
Very primitive early text-only RPG, The Wizard's Castle is another release by IPCO, the world's first publication for PC. From MobyGames' description: "...A long time ago, the great wizard Zot forged ... Infocom's contemporaneous Zork, The Wizard's Castle pales by comparison. Worth a look for text adventure enthusiasts, but only as a historical curiosity that doesn't stand the test of time so well.
Wizard's Doom is a decent third-person puzzle game in the same vein as Soko-Ban, except not as devious or fun. The plot is that you have been captured inside some evil wizard's castle, and your goal is ... - not because the puzzle is tough, but because you barely have time to move all the boxes into place and make your way out. If you like Soko-Ban, there is little reason to play this inferior puzzler.
Word Crazy is a superb word game that is worth the rare endorsement from Merriam-Webster, makers of the world's most popular dictionary. The game comprises 4 mini-games: Letter Ball, Chain Reaction, Word ... games separately or compete in a simulated 50-player Tournament for the champion spot. With a myriad of words ranging from banal to obscure, and flawless interface, the game is highly recommended.
Probably two of the rarest Apogee games in existence, Word Whiz and Trivia Whiz are two decent trivia games by George Broussard and Scott Miller, two founders of Apogee. Word Whiz is the more limited and ... is that Trivia Whiz was actually not published under Apogee name but "Micro F/X," a small company that George Broussard ran before he teamed up with Scott Miller in 1990 to form Apogee.
Tetris avalanche continues, this time with a fun and educational twist: you must clear blocks of letters from the screen by forming intelligible words. The in-game vocabulary is surprisingly large-- it recognizes most words that contain up to 5 letters, although it struggles with bigger words. Overall, another solid game from seminal puzzle designer Pajitnov that will occupy you for hours one end.
Wrigglers is a fun reflex-oriented puzzler that places the concept of Snake/Nibbles in a puzzle-based environment. The concept is simple: you are a worm ("wriggler") who must eat all the food ... to carefully plan the order to eat the food lest you trap yourself. Overall, Wrigglers is a fun twist on the familiar Nibbles concept, and a game that fans of brainteasers should enjoy. Recommended!
Xenoball is a neat puzzle game that is like Pipe Dreams meets Marble Madness: you control a living, rolling red ball that must lay track portions to make a path to the exit. Levels get harder quickly, with increasing variety of track shapes and sizes. Overall, a very addictive game that combines arcade action seamlessly with puzzles. Highly recommended.
One of the most addictive Tetris variants ever, Xixit is like Tic-Tac-Toe meets Tetris: arrange the falling colored blocks to make 3 in a row in any direction to make them disappear. Like Tetris, Xixit ... one of the most popular time-wasters at my office :) Note: If you like this game, be sure to check out Chain Reaction, an updated version released by Webfoot in 1996 - also on this site, of course ;)
Same game as Styx.
XOR - The Ultimate Maze Challenge is a superb fanmade remake of a classic puzzle game, created by Astral around 1986 and published by Logotron. If you like Chip's Challenge or reflex-free puzzlers in general, take a look at this excellent game that was hitherto unavailable for PC until now. Recommended!
X-Rock (a.k.a. Rockin' Magic Ball) is a thoroughly average Tetris variant from Softworld, Taiwan's most prolific gaming developers. Probably the only reason anyone might want to play this game over numerous ... to play X-Rock if your goal is not to collect (or, worse still, play) all the games ever made with adult material. Still, it's a decent enough game that Tetris fans might enjoy for a few minutes.
One of the most unique and entertaining word puzzle games I've come across, Zig Zag is best described as Mastermind with a difference: the task of deducing the hidden word based on "Zigs" (i.e. ... vocabulary is large, and the Hawaiian songs and voices add to the atmosphere. Add to that a great "quest" mode similar to Solitaire's Journey, and you can't really find fault with this gem.
Zoop is a fun action puzzler developed by British company Hookstone. One of the better Tetris-inspired games, although doesn't quite have that illusive "just one more round" quality of Tetris. ... hooked on this hip little game, daddy-o. Although, I never found it to be as addicting as games like Tetris, it is still fun for that little break." Recommended, but for expert players only.
Zyconix is a fun Tetris/Columns clone with some new ideas. Instead of controlling the falling tiles themselves, you have to catch the tiles and can control one, when caught. There are also some nice extra ... there are also a two-player mode, nice music, and various different play-modes. Overall a good clone - probably a bit too easy for Tetris experts, though. Recommended, but for beginners only.
