All in all, a decent title that offers enough trivia about the USA to occupy you for a while, although the games could be much better and the database more comprehensive.

It is not as intuitive or pretty to look at as EA's Music Construction Set, but it's got enough different features and user-friendly options to stand up to the best.

The ... so this program may be considered ideal ;) It's not as varied as Broderbund's classic preschooler package The Playroom, but it's well worth a look especially for young fans of the good-natured bears.

Both are good games with excellent on-line help and educational value, and you (or your kids) will learn a lot about the world's geography in the globe-spanning hunts.

Code: Europe is a decent edutainment title that looks and feels very similar to Broderbund's famous Carmen Sandiego games, but much less engaging or original. Cast as a secret agent, your job is to catch ... is too banal to occupy anyone - let alone kids - for long. Not recommended, unless you or your kids have already played all Carmen Sandiego games, or want a brush up on your knowledge of Europe.

All in all, a must-have for every comic book fan, and another solid title from Voyager - a now-defunct company that in my opinion was the best 'edutainment CD-ROM' producer that ever existed.
Among film connoisseurs, the name "Criterion Collection" is synonymous with "quality film releases." Founded by the same founders as Voyager Company, Criterion is dedicated to "...gathering ... of Blade Runner (which includes rare Sid Mead sketches) and Akira (which incldues a collection of Japanese and English trailers) remain two of my most favorite Laserdiscs in my small collection :)
One of the best edutainment titles ever made, Cross Country Canada is an excellent game for kids aged 4-9 designed to teach them about the geography of Canada. You goal in the game is to take various delivery ... and the graphics are crisp and clear, even with the limitation of 4-color CGA palette. The game even allows 2 players to compete on the same computer by taking turns driving their own trucks.
Cross Country USA is yet another excellent edutainment program from Didatech, one of the most underrated education software makers today. The program gets you to pick up various commodities at different ... of subjects while they are glued to the screen, not suspecting that they are learning something. Highly recommended, especially if you have kids in your house or if you love geography-related trivia.
Review 1: One of the few education titles from Hi-Tech Expressions, and therefore one of its rarest releases, Daffy Duck is a so-so spelling game starring popular Looney Tunes characters Daffy Duck, ... and Wily E. Coyote. In this game Daffy Duck is on a treasure hunt, and in each level you must pick up the right letter wich is missing from the given word and then you must put it in the right slot.
Easily the best astronomy software ever until its later versions and Maris' Redshift 3, Dance of the Planets was recommended by my astronomy professor. It's a surprisingly versatile program, given its ... Animations of planets are well-done, and the huge database of sky objects make for excellent star maps to take with you for real stargazing sessions.Highly recommended for aspiring astronomers.
One of the best and most original edutainment titles ever made, Designasaurus II is the superior sequel to Britannica's Designasaurus, the unique "dinosaur sim" for the Commodore 64. Forget modern ... intriguing animals in the process, while having fun -- the hallmark of good edutainment. Too bad there is no other game like it even today... I for one would love to see a remake of this old game :)
A fun little mix-and-match program for kids, Dino-Sorcerer is probably best remembered as one of the last games coded by John Romero before he left SoftDisk to form id Software with John and Adrian Carmack. ... and some are quite amusing. Overall, a fun little game that will probably delight the youngsters in your house, before they (or you) get bored of printing out one wacky dinosaur after another :)
Discover Space is an excellent desktop planetary program from Broderbund, makers of numerous prize-winning edutainment titles including the world-famous Where in [X] is Carmen Sandiego? series. Contrary ... interface, and the right balance between accessibility and depth of information, Discover Space will appeal to kids of all ages who find 'professional' astronomy software a bit too intimidating.
Discoveries of The Deep is an okay simulation of deep-sea exploration that suffers from the same syndrome as most Capstone games: great concept but poor execution. The concept in this case is novel enough: ... instead, and anyone looking for a realistic treasure-hunting simulation should definitely stick to the superior Sea Rogue from MicroPlay. Not exactly a Real Dog, but also not a Top Dog by a longshot.

Designed for children aged 8 and up, this adventure for children combines American ... who were frustrated with Oregon Trail's many arcade sequences will be relieved. Overall, this is a good product with very high production values that does achieve its aim, although not by innovation.
