Take a Break! Crossword 1

Part of Sierra's avalanche of "budget" games in the early 1990s, Take a Break! Crossword 1 and 2 actually delivers more "bang for the buck" than most other budget titles. It features ... complete scoring system with built-in hints, and excellent Windows interface (clues are highlighted with corresponding block, and right-clicking change the orientation). Great games by all account.

Take a Break! Crossword 2

Tamarin

Tamarin is a fun and unique freeware puzzle game that plays like a variation of Rubik's famous tile puzzles. The game is simple to learn, but hard to master. You basically move a 2x2 magnifying lens around ... frequently during coffee breaks. If you enjoy reflex-oriented puzzlers, Tamarin is a great game that will keep you coming back for more in hopes of breaking your last high score. Highly recommended.

Teracom Digital TV

Each new promotional game release from E-Game gets better and better, and Teracom Digital TV is no exception. Sponsored by Swedish telecom giant Teracom, Teracom Digital TV is a fun puzzle game. The goal ... of success, so you better plan your moves well!" Overall, Teracom Digital TV is a surprisingly addictive puzzler that is perfect for a few minutes' worth of brain exercise. Highly recommended!

Terra Probe

In 1984, First Star released a low profile, unassuming puzzler called Boulderdash that would become the company's best selling series and sparked numerous clones even decades after its release. The game ... and ingenuity, but all in all, it's not a bad clone. Can't compare with Rockford, Mastertronic's official release of the original classic, but well worth your time if you are fan of the series.

Tesserae

Tesserae is a very hard puzzle/logic game. The game rules look fairly complicated at first, but once you got used to the game principle, it can get really addicting. You've got to basically clear a board ... a real brain-teaser. Various levels of difficulty and nine different mosaic boards should keep your brain occupied for a while. Overall, a great little puzzler for fans of boardgame-style puzzles.

Tetris

As a true gamer I refuse to make any comment on this legend from former USSR. There are no words that can describe this simple, but very addictive game that inspired many programmers.

Tetris (from Mirrorsoft)

Review 1: Maybe not the first attempt to put a puzzle-game into realtime - but for sure the most successful. Tetris was a milestone in gaming history and hasn't lost a bit of its addictiveness till today. ... also the most cloned and imitated game in the world. Definitely NOT an old game, but its designer Alexei Pajitnov definitely is, as he never became well-known. Check out his other games on this site!

Tetris 2
Tetris Classic

Although Tetris Classic is little more than a fancy-rewrite of the original blockbuster Tetris, it does have many added features that make it a good alternative to the original, especially the stunning ... and a bevy of updated sound effects. Tetris Classic also allows players to play head-to-head with two game wells on the screen or in cooperative mode in one extra-large game well. Highly recommended.

Tetrix v1.30

Tetris clone.

Th!nk Cross

Th!nk Cross is a decent Tetris clone with a twist. Instead of moving falling blocks in an empty play area, your goal is to match blocks of various colors and shapes by moving them horizontally and vertically. ... disappear, instead of just two. Overall, a nice puzzle game that Tetris fans should enjoy, although the game's variation from the norm is very slight, and level design is not as ingenious as Sokoban.

Tile Golf Puzzle

Tile Golf Puzzle is a clever variant on the typical arrange-the-tiles puzzle. From the official page: "Looking for ways to improve your golf game? Well, this puzzle won't improve your physical game, ... easy, but for the rest of us, Tile Golf Puzzle provides a good mental workout. Too bad there is no random option, so the game has no replay value. A great puzzler to pass around to friends, though.

Tile World

Tile World is a superb freeware "emulator" of Chip's Challenge, a classic tile-based puzzle game reviewed elsewhere on this site. If you have never played the original Chip's Challenge, read ... for the original game designed and voted on by Chip's Challenge players. Whether or not you're a fan of the original, Tile World is a must-have if you love brainteasers or puzzle games in general.

Tilt!

Not to be confused with Codemasters' action-adventure game of the same name, Genias' Tilt! is a fun puzzler that plays like EA's classic Marble Madness meets a pinball game. The goal is straightforward: ... very comprehensive instructions, which you can access from the title screen. Overall, if you like puzzle games that emphasizes hand-eye coordination and timing (a la Tetris), give Tilt! a try.

Tiny Skweeks

Tiny Sweek is a nice puzzle game starring the Skweek characters. Starts very easy but gets a bit more challenging in later levels. The goal of the game is to get every Skweek to the pad with the same color ... Overall, a nice puzzler that won't dethrone Lemmings from the cuteness pedestal, but definitely has more than enough charm on its own and challenges to occupy even the most jaded puzzle meistros.

Tower of Goo Unlimited

Tower of Goo Unlimited is a very addictive 'coffee break' game that is based on a simple premise: drag goo balls to form "joints" of a structure, making it as high as possible. Like other games ... a lot of fun with this cool coffee-break game. The "unlimited" in the name refers to the infinite space you have to play with - the original version of this game had spatial constraints.

Toy Shop, The

One of the first innovative "edutainment" software titles, The Toy Shop from Broderbund is also one of the first software of its kind to have a hefty price tag: it retailed for over $75 in most ... instructions. As it stands, though, you can still read instructions for many neat toys and marvel at how much fun we could have in 1986 when we made our own toys out of household objects :)

Triazzle

A good PC version of classic puzzle game, Triazzle is a solid and pretty PC version that curiously was published with little fanfare. The goal, as with any good puzzle game, is simple: arrange tiles to form a complete picture. Each level gets more and more difficult, but the varied animations you see as rewards for completing them will keep you hooked for a while.

Triskelion

Difficult solo puzzle.

TriTryst

PC Gamer sums it up well in their review of this addictive puzzler: "The basic gameplay of TriTryst is similar to Tetris, with different colored squares that fall from the top of the screen, challenging ... give you extra points; blocking squares limit your movements, etc. There's also a challenging progressive game in which you must win at one board before you can move on to the next board."

Trivia 101

Trivia 101, 3-K Trivia, and TV and Cinema 101 together constitute a trilogy of trivia games developed by Digital Learning Systems and published by IBM in 1984. The games are all straightforward multiple-choice ... questions to the program. Please note that all three games are self-booting games that cannot be run even from the DOS prompt. The downloads are therefore disk images that you must run with Flopper.

Trivia Whiz

Probably two of the rarest Apogee games in existence, Word Whiz and Trivia Whiz are two decent trivia games by George Broussard and Scott Miller, two founders of Apogee. Word Whiz is the more limited and ... is that Trivia Whiz was actually not published under Apogee name but "Micro F/X," a small company that George Broussard ran before he teamed up with Scott Miller in 1990 to form Apogee.

Troddlers

Successful games with new game principles usually spawn a long list of clones. DMA Design's Lemmings was one of these games. Troddlers by Swedish developer ATOD is one of the few Lemmings-inspired games ... - 1-player, 2-player "team" and 2-player "war". A truly magnificent game, it totals an amazing 175 puzzling levels! If you are a Lemmings fan, Troddlers is simply a must-have.

Troika

Troika is an eclectic collection of games from Russia that range from an average title, to an interesting twist on the old idea. The first game, Rebel Planets, is an okay shooter that won't lure any gamer ... Metal Hearts is interesting enough to keep me playing for a while, but the novelty soon wears out for the lack of new surprises to keep the levels fresh. The other two games get tedious even faster.

Tubes

Review 1: In this game there is a scientist, and all his particles have gone astray. You have to help him clean them up by putting them into test tubes. There are two modes you can play in (endurance ... sort of tube, then deposit them where you want. You also can control the incoming tubes, by pressing Alt under the right tube, then all balls in that tube will come faster then balls in other tubes.

Tubis

Review 1: Tubis is a complex Tetris variant that is best described as the "expert" level of Welltris. It is best described as Welltris stretched out in every direction so the well becomes cylindrical ... It might sound fairly easy but it's far from that. People like to say that Tubis is the final Tetris level and whoever can beat this game can easily be called the Tetris master. I wish you good luck!

TV and Cinema 101

Trivia 101, 3-K Trivia, and TV and Cinema 101 together constitute a trilogy of trivia games developed by Digital Learning Systems and published by IBM in 1984. The games are all straightforward multiple-choice ... questions to the program. Please note that all three games are self-booting games that cannot be run even from the DOS prompt.
