Theatre of Death

Theatre of Death is a fun, innovative isometric action/strategy hybrid by Software Shed/Psygnosis. The game is similar in many ways to Cannon Fodder, but a lot more complex. In this futuristic tactical ... scenery, and gameplay options, Theatre of Death is a perfect game for fans of Cannon Fodder who want more options and challenge, but don't want the level of gritty realism seen in Jagged Alliance.

Theatre of Pain

Theater of Pain is a pretty bad 2D fighting game. Not as bad as Rise of the Robot, but bad enough to make you notice the obvious emphasis of form (i.e. graphics) over content (i.e. gameplay). Your task ... that you can dispose of in minutes. Fortunately the ability to play with a friend makes the game less boring. Not good enough to warrant anyone's attention at all, despite nice graphics. A pity.

Thexder

Thexder is a solid PC conversion of Game Arts' hit in Japan, licensed to distribute in the US by Sierra. You control a robot ("mech") that is capable of switching from a 'mech into a jet at any ... means you'll need to avoid picking up power-ups you don't need in the midst of all the chaos. All this makes for a very difficult game that's fun only to the most expert and masochistic of gamers.

Thexder 2 (a.k.a. Fire Hawk: Thexder - The Second Contact)

This sequel to Thexder has more of everything: enemies, power-ups, levels, and sports much-improved graphics and a rocking soundtrack. The aim of the platform shooter is still the same: kill everything in sight, but now all the improvements actually make it more fun to play than the previous game, and you can now save in mid-level to boot.

Thexder 95

Thexder 95 is an excellent modern remake of the 1987 classic platformer that was developed by Japan's Game Arts and published by Sierra in the West. The general play mechanics are left untouched: you still ... If you have never played the original, this version ranks as one of the better platformers you will come across. It is neither as fun nor as smooth as, say, Abuse, but it is still very enjoyable.

Probably be a bit too dull and repetitive for adults, but great for young action fans in your family.

The Thor Trilogy is a fun early shareware ASCII-based action/adventure game, similar to ZZT. One of Todd Replogle's earliest games at Apogee before he went on to design classics like Cosmo's Adventure, ... traversed, making the game much less linear than most. Overall, a nice and very rare relic of Apogee's golden 80's, and a solid ASCII game in its own right. Recommended, although not a Top Dog.

Threat

Threat is one of the best shareware action games ever made, bar none. Dan Nguyen said it all in his review for Games Domain: "There are only a handful of shareware games from the Internet that are ... of death. [Overall, Threat is]... an excellent shoot 'em up that deserves to be ranked among the high end shareware games out there; then again, any game with guns and aliens is a good one :)"

Three Stooges, The

Review 1: The three stooges was a comedy show in sixties in USA (at least that's what I know), and inspired the long dead company of Cinemaware to make this game. Not-so-typical arcade game that featured ... watch but questionable in nature, such as stealing money-- no honest means here :) Overall, a fun game that doesn't live up to Cinemaware's standard, but at least it has excellent digitized voices.

Thrust

Thrust is a faithful fanmade remake of classic C64/Spectrum ZX game of the same name, which is in turn based on Gravitar, ATARI's arcade classic. Thunder Blade

Thunder Blade is a below-average conversion of a SEGA arcade game. Although missing the original's sharp and fluid graphics, this PC version is still a decent shooter without a lot of variety. You get ... the levels contain similar enemies. Your weapons are not too interesting either, and the game quickly becomes repetitive. The arcade original was never a smash hit, and this PC version is even worse.

Thunder Brigade

Thunder Brigade is an ambitious but ultimately disappointing ground combat game from Bluemoon Interactive. The game suffers from being rushed out of the door and the unfortunate timing: it was made when ... software design tasks, like fixing A-level bugs. That, coupled with Interactive Magic's financial difficulties accounted for the fact that the game sold rather poorly in the end." Too bad.

Thunder Strike

Thunder Strike is an above-average 3D shooter with a wacky plot. It's the year 2238 and the TV networks and defense industries control the Earth. Whoever has the highest ratings rules the world. The ultimate ... that could be much more fun with more imaginative structures and power-ups (e.g. Spectre VR). Worth a try if you like 3D shooters. For a more unique game, though, try Loriciel's Moon Blaster instead.

Tigershark

Tigershark is an above-average shooter that is better known on the Playstation console. Developed by n-Space and published by GT Interactive, the game is set in the near future, pitting you against the ... places too much emphasis on completing objectives, but there is still plenty of frenzied, nonstop combat. All in all, a solid shooter that is not quite a top game, but is definitely worth a look.

After having ruined some comics' licenses, Simulmondo tried again, this time with completely own storyline and characters. The project was quite ambitious: Fabbri is one of Italy's biggest magazine publishers, ... the amateurish. Nothing can save them from the Real Dog tag, but, at least, they have a little more value if taken all together, playing them one after another. If you have the courage to do it :P

It also features the industrial music of the Anal Kitties. In all, a bloody, mindless fun that's very addictive if you're not easily offended ;)

Tintin in Tibet

A fun platform game starring France's answer to Indiana Jones, Tin Tin in Tibet follows on the heel of Infograme's successful Asterix & Obelix, with the same excellent action-packed gameplay. Although ... game that's highly recommended, especially to US gamers who are fond of Disney's Aladdin and Lion King but never had a chance to play this highly comparable game that was released in Europe only.

Tintin on the Moon

The first PC game to feature popular classic comic character Tintin, Tintin On The Moon is a competent conversion of classic Spectrum/Amstrad game of the same name. Based loosely on Explorers on the Moon ... cutscenes) to leverage full use of the license. A mediocre game at best. Fortunately for fans, Infogrames? later use of the license is much better?check out the two other Tintin games on this site.

Tintin: Prisoners of The Sun

Tintin: Prisoners of The Sun is the last and best of all Infogrames' games based on the acclaimed comics series. Intrepid adventurer Tintin is back, and better than ever in this installation. The game ... the closing credits. In short, this is a must-have for Tintin fans. And if you don't know Tintin, here's a very good opportunity to find out why he remains one of the world's best-loved characters.

Titan

An early game by Titus, Titan is a fairly unorthodox Arkanoid / Breakout clone that unfortunately doesn't play as well as the concept would lead you to believe. The best way to describe Titan is to think ... into it. The ball can also get stuck in a corner, in which case it's painfully difficult to knock it out. Overall, an original idea for a Blockout clone that doesn't play very well... unfortunately.

Titan Omega Revelations

Titan Omega Revelations is a fun, polished, and massive freeware horizontal shooter that went through many versions, each time with more features than the last. This latest incarnation is chock full of ... being marketed as $10+ shareware. I certainly had a lot of fun with this one, even though my lack of skills prevented me from seeing the final sequence. TMNT: Tournament Fighters Remix

Review 1: One of the best examples of a good MUGEN fighting game that isn't simply a clone of others, TMNT: Tournament Fighters Remix is a good PC remake of an old SEGA Genesis game, released by Konami. ... games like Street Fighter and while there aren't as many characters within the game compared to some of the better known commercial fighting games TMHT Tournament Fighters is an entertaining game.

Tom & Jerry

Review 1: Tom (the 'frantic feline' as it says in the intro ;) ) mouse-napped Jerry's nephew Tuffy and now it's your turn (taking over the role of Jerry) to rescue him from the attic. A nice while not ... speaker sound. To tell the truth, I would rather have been Tom, I've always wished that Tom could just beat Jerry JUST ONCE! But alas, that's too much to ask. Maybe Sylvester can get Tweety instead?

Tom & Jerry: Yankee Doodle's CAT-astrophe

Tom and The Ghost

Little 7 year old Tom and his mother go on a trip to a castle in Scotland. While there, an evil magician enters the scene and casts a spell on Tom's mother, both disappear, leaving Tom alone. If you're looking for a classic adventure though, you'd better look somewhere else.

Your objective is simple: stay alive as long as possible to make ... classics, but it is still captivating enough to glue you to the computer during coffee breaks and make you miss the golden days when games could really sell by virtue of gameplay alone. Recommended!

Tony and Friends in Kellogg's Land

Tony and Friends in Kellogg's Land is a decent clone of Super Mario Brothers starring cartoon characters that populate the covers of Kellogg's cereal boxes. You play Tony the tiger who must journey across ... gamers everywhere, who are probably the intended audience anyway, judging from the fact that I haven't had any cereal for a long time and have already forgotten most of the characters in the game ;)

Topgun

One of OCEAN's earliest flight sims, Top Gun is a simulation of F14 Tomcat, one of the world's most famous modern fighters. The movie license is a mere marketing ploy here, as the game is a straightforward ... and white. A game best played for its nostalgic value only-- to see how far we have come :) If you want a good solid sim from the same period, Sid Meier's Solo Flight would fit the bill much better.

A nice Windows remake of cult classic Perestroika (a.k.a. Toppler), one of the few games that manage to both be a fun action game and make a political statement about reforms in Russia. Read my earlier ... of nice graphics and some funny sound effects to enhance the experience. The underlying game is still a lot of fun to play, and especially good for a few minutes of coffee break. Driller) and Dark Side, Incentive brought their revolutionary Freescape 3D engine to breath life into ancient ... Patience to map the maze-like environs is a must in this one. Recommended, but not for the faint of heart or anyone who's unwilling to sacrifice hours to get lost in desolate ancient ruins.

Although not as well-known as Sango Fighter games, Tough Guy has the same charm and excellent gameplay that makes Panda one of the most underrated fighting game companies of all time, let alone in Taiwan. ... many special moves, and diverse locales make this a fun game to play. The only downside is that the characters are too similar to each other. Still, it's a good fighting game no one should pass up.

Tower Toppler

Climb a tower, cool 3d effects!

Town Hall Toaster

One of the most unique action games you'll ever see, Town Hall Toaster plays like an expanded version of BBQ, a little-known freeware gem from Japan that is also reviewed on this site.
