Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge is a puzzle solving adventure game set in the Tri-Island Area near the Caribbean. You will be taking the part of Guybrush Threepwood who is meant to resemble a pirate.
At the beginning of the game you will be in conversation with two pirates. You will be having a discussion about how you defeated LeChuck. Then you explain what your next plans will be and they will give you some well-needed information to get you started, but this information leads to LeChuck becomes resurrected from the dead you begin your search for the secret Big Whoop, which is the only item that will be capable of stopping LeChuck.
You will then have to find tons of information that will assist in the recreation of the map of Dinky Island, which allows you to find the location of Big Whoop. LeChuck ends up getting a hold of this map, but you eventually will find Dinky Island. While on the island you run into a gentleman who has a very wise parrot who remembers the conversation that was had about who discovered Big Whoop, and ends up taking you to where the treasure has been buried. You'll then dig up the location going into the hole with one of your ropes.
This is when the game can get a little frustrating. You will now be taken back to the beginning scene, but this time your rope snaps and you'll start falling into several artificial tunnels. You will then receive some very unexpected news from LeChuck stating that you are his brother who then follows you throughout the tunnels with a voodoo doll. You will find many different things in the process of running from LeChuck; one fascinating discovery would be the skeletons of your parents. From there the game gets even more interesting then you could possibly expect.
Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge is a phenomenal game in many aspects. The overall plot of the game has endless excitement and so many unexpected turns that will keep you on your toes. The graphical details that have been done with this game are just as well done as the game itself. You will watch the game in a third person perspective, which allows you to get a great view of everything going on. There is a lot of detail done to everything in the entire game that makes this game what it has become.
Throughout the game there are six characters that you will get to know quite well. The first character which is the on you will use is Guybrush Threepwood who has been placed as the protagonist of the overall game. He is supposed to resemble a pirate that is definitely a thrill seeker. Guybrush is interested in a lovely lady named Elaine Marley who is actually the Governess of Booty Island. You will get to see her right at the beginning of the game. Now we get to know the enemy of the game, which would be LeChuck. If you played the first game of the series you'll already be familiar with LeChuck. He has been placed in this game as the antagonist and is against Guybrush trying to put a stop to pretty much anything he does. What is an antagonist with an evil sidekick, Largo LaGrande is LeChuck's right hand man, and he was able to bring LeChuck back and assist with any evil doings while LeChuck was gone. Then there is the two characters that play a big part in the game, The Voodoo Lady and Wally B. Feed. They both assist you throughout the game in their own way. The Voodoo Lady will help you throughout your travels and Wally B. Feed makes it that you can go on travels with the map he made for you. All the characters in the game have been designed with their own unique personalities and overall look. Each character in the game play a big role throughout everything that happens, either the good guys or the bad guys no matter what you will get to like or dislike them quite quickly.
There are two difficulty levels that have been used. This allows the puzzles to either be very complicated or just difficult enough that you have to think. You must make your decision at the beginning of the game of which difficulty level you would prefer to attempt. This does make it that new gamers can attempt this game just as much as experienced gamers.
Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge has become a great game in many aspects. There is so much detail done to every area of the game that allows this game to be designed with that well needed detail that has been done. There is so much going on at all times you will discover yourself becoming very addicted to this game. With a plot having tons of unexpected happenings and well-designed graphics, Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge is without a doubt a phenomenally put together game.
